Hey, folks - the post above with concerns about Mitchell's draft, though I forgot to log in, is mine.  I posted it to the CAPES listserv list a few days back and Lloyd asked me to forward it here.  I haven't seen any responses to the specific criticisms yet, and I'd like to see some or else I wouldn't have posted them. . I'd also like specific criticisms on the other proposed mission statement up top, on which there's been complete silence.  If it's unsatisfactory, I'd like to know why so I can post an amended version that can compete with/be combined with Mitchell's, and also bring it to Tuesday's meeting. . Although I'm fond of neither, I greatly prefer Mitchell's first draft to the "John/Mitchell remix."  The detailed and numbered section in the middle was the part of Mitchell's statement which I felt might be preferable to the statement I proposed. .
