"Real Utopia" available, and another CAPES/Schweickart Debate
newsletter | public
-
Hi, everyone. We have two updates to share.
-
(1) Real Utopia -- the book about participatory society institutions and efforts, which CAPES contributed a chapter to -- is available for purchase. You can order a copy direct from the publisher, AK Press, here:
-
We hope to have a party sometime in the summer to celebrate the book's release. We'll keep you posted on details.
-
(2) In February 2007, CAPES participated in a renowned debate against anti-parecon-advocate David Schweickart. This weekend, on June 30, CAPES will participate in another debate against David Schweickart -- in St. Louis, Missouri, on the campus of Webster University.
-
This debate is part of a conference convened by the producers of the journal "Synthesis / Regeneration" -- "a journal of debate on social and political matters of interest to Greens and a resource for Green and allied organizers working on technological, environmental, trade and other issues, and on Green Party organization-building." The journal's webpage is here:
-
We plan to record the audio (and perhaps some video) of the debate, which we plan to make available.
-
Thanks.
